The load-shedding rush put a lot of solar on a lot of roofs very quickly. Some of it was excellent work. Some of it was done by people who had been installing solar for three weeks.

How Remediation Works
You get an itemised quote. Every fault we found, what it costs to fix, and how long it takes. Nothing bundled into a single number.
Safety issues are separated from the rest. We tell you plainly which items are a fire or shock risk and which are compliance tidy-ups. You decide what to do and when.
A registered electrical contractor does the work. You appoint them directly for the electrical work and the parts it needs, and they issue the Certificate of Compliance under their own registration. Every contractor we put forward has to meet the CleanVolts Approved standard. We're still building that network, so we name the contractor for your job, and tell you why we chose them, before you approve anything. CleanVolts manages the project, checks the contractor's parts prices against distributor prices and coordinates the job, so it runs as one piece of work.
We check the work and collect the paperwork. Once the work is done, we check it against the agreed scope. The contractor issues the CoC, and we file it with your SSEG documents and hand you a close-out pack with everything in one place.
The Faults We Expect to Find

What It Costs
Remediation is quoted per job, because no two bad installations are bad in the same way. Small fixes are often a few thousand rand. A system that needs the DC side rebuilt is a bigger job and we will say so.
If we did the audit and you appoint us for the remediation, the audit fee comes off the quote.
Parts Prices, Checked
CleanVolts never buys or sells parts, so we make nothing on them. The contractor supplies the panels, isolators, cabling or batteries, and before you approve the work we check their prices against what the distributors charge. Our project management fee is its own line, so you can see exactly what you are paying us.
