# Terms of Service
*Effective 16 October 2026*
These terms apply when you use CleanVolts' services. Please read them before you book. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you sign anything: [tony@cleanvolts.co.za](mailto:tony@cleanvolts.co.za) or +27 72 368 2960.
All information provided on the website, emails, social media and other platforms or verbally should be reviewed with a qualified, registered professional before taking any action as a result of this information. CleanVolts takes no responsibility and holds no liability for any damage, injury or death as a result of information provided.
## 1. Who we are
CleanVolts (Pty) Ltd ("CleanVolts", "we", "us"), 9 Nielson Drive, Blairgowrie, Johannesburg, 2194. Email: tony@cleanvolts.co.za. Phone and WhatsApp: +27 72 368 2960.
CleanVolts is not VAT-registered, so our prices do not include VAT.
## 2. What we do, and what we don't
We provide these services to homeowners:
- Solar Health Checks and Full Solar System Audits
- Quote reviews
- Design, specification and project management of new solar installations, upgrades and remediation work
- Tariff re-optimisation
- Monitoring and service plans
- Arranging panel cleaning
- Introductions to approved partners, such as registered installers, panel cleaners, finance providers and EV dealers
**We are not a registered electrical contractor.** We do not do electrical work, open distribution boards, work live on the DC side of a system, or issue Certificates of Compliance. Electrical work is done and certified by a registered electrical contractor under their own registration.
**We do not hold stock, and we do not buy, sell or take payment for components.** The registered contractor supplies the components.
## 3. Who you contract with
Most installation and repair jobs involve two separate agreements:
- **With CleanVolts**, for our own services: assessment, inspection, reports, design and specification, coordination, SSEG paperwork, monitoring and service plans.
- **With the registered electrical contractor**, directly, for the components, the electrical work and the Certificate of Compliance. Their quote, terms, warranty and payment schedule apply to that work, and you pay them directly.
If you choose finance, you also sign a separate agreement with the lender. We do not lend money and we are not party to that agreement.
We name the contractor, and tell you why we chose them, before you sign anything. We check their component prices against what distributors charge, but the contractor is responsible for their own work, components and workmanship warranty.
## 4. Our fees
- Our fees are confirmed in writing before we start. On an installation quote, our fee is shown as its own line.
- Current starting prices are on our website, for example a Health Check from R1,500 and a Full Audit from R5,000. The final price depends on the size and type of your system.
- The site assessment for a new installation costs R750, and is credited against our fee if you go ahead.
- Quote reviews are free.
- Unless your quote says otherwise, our invoices are payable within 7 days of the invoice date.
## 5. Referral fees
We only recommend partners who meet our [CleanVolts Approved](https://cleanvolts.co.za/cleanvolts-approved?hsLang=za) standard. An approved partner may pay us a referral fee when you go ahead with them. We tell you before you sign whether a fee is paid and who pays it. ## 6. Site visits
- Before a visit we send you the name, photograph and vehicle of the person coming.
- Please secure pets, and give us safe access to the roof area, distribution board, inverter and battery.
- We may decline or stop work if we believe it is unsafe to continue, and we will tell you why.
- Please give us at least one working day's notice to move or cancel a visit. If we have already travelled to you and cannot do the visit, we may charge for it.
## 7. Reports, designs and quote reviews
- A Health Check is a covers-on inspection. It does not include dismantling, thermal surveys, insulation resistance tests or a structural assessment of your roof.
- Our reports describe what we found on the day, based on what we could safely see, measure and access. They are not a Certificate of Compliance and do not certify anything.
- A quote review is our opinion on documents you send us. It is not an inspection of your property.
- Savings estimates and system sizes are estimates based on your bills, usage and current tariffs. Actual savings depend on weather, usage, tariffs and how the system is run.
## 8. Service plans and monitoring
- Plans run for 12 months, are billed monthly by debit order and renew automatically. You can cancel with 30 days' written notice.
- Repairs are not included in a plan. They are quoted separately, and electrical work is done by a registered contractor you appoint directly.
- Monitoring needs a working internet connection at the property and an inverter that reports to a monitoring portal.
## 9. Photographs and your data
We take photographs of your system for your report and our records. We will not use photographs of your property publicly without your written permission, and we will never publish anything that identifies your address. ## 10. Cancelling
You may cancel a service before we start. If we have already done part of the work, you pay for the work done. Where the Consumer Protection Act gives you a cooling-off period or other cancellation rights, those rights apply.
## 11. Liability
We do our work with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to our services is limited to the fees you paid CleanVolts for that service. We are not responsible for the work, components or warranties of contractors, lenders or other partners you contract with directly. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act that cannot be limited.
## 12. Complaints
If you're unhappy with anything we've done, tell us first at [tony@cleanvolts.co.za](mailto:tony@cleanvolts.co.za). We'll acknowledge it within two working days and try to put it right. If we can't resolve it, you can approach the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud.
## 13. General
These terms are governed by the law of South Africa. We may update them from time to time; the version on this page on the date you book applies to that booking.
