## Getting Solar: A New System, Done Properly
No standard packages pushed at you and no pressure to buy the biggest battery on the shelf. A system sized from your bills and how you live, installed properly, and signed off in full.
### How It Works
1. **Tell us about your home.** Share a recent electricity bill, what you want solar to do (cut the bill, keep the lights on, or both) and whether you'd like to pay cash or monthly.
2. **Site assessment and design.** We visit, look at your roof, distribution board and how you use power, and design a system to fit. You get a written quote with every component named by make and model, and the registered contractor for your job named on it. The contractor supplies the components on their own quote, so there is no hidden markup on the hardware.
3. **Installation.** A registered electrical contractor we have vetted installs the system. We coordinate the job and stay your point of contact throughout.
4. **Sign-off and handover.** The Certificate of Compliance is issued, the SSEG application goes to City Power, and we walk you through the system before we leave.

### What Every Installation Should Include
- A Certificate of Compliance issued by a registered electrical contractor
- An SSEG registration application to City Power
- DC isolators, surge protection and labelling, itemised on the quote
- Monitoring from day one, so early faults are caught while the warranty still covers them
- A walk-through of your system and how to shut it down safely
We check that each of these is on your quote, and who is responsible for it, before you sign.
### Paying for It
Pay cash, use a bond re-advance, or ask us about paying monthly. We don't lend money ourselves; if you'd like finance, we'll talk you through the options available for your system so you can compare them with paying cash, and we'll always tell you if we earn a referral fee.

## Already Have Solar? Make Sure It Is Legal, Safe and Registered
If your system went in during the load-shedding rush, you may have no way of knowing whether it is safe, whether your insurer would pay out, or whether it will hold up a property transfer.
What most homeowners do not know is that the responsibility sits with you. **The user of an electrical installation, including its solar system, is legally responsible for its safety, safe use and maintenance.** In a home you own and live in, that is you. Not the installer who has moved on.

- **Insurers** are increasingly asking for a CoC before paying a claim on fire or lightning damage.
- **City Power** is enforcing SSEG registration, and registering moves you onto postpaid billing with a higher fixed monthly charge.

### Built for Load Shedding? Make It Cut Your Bill
Most systems that went in during 2022 and 2023 were set up to survive outages, not to cut your bill. Nothing is broken; it is aimed at the wrong job for 2026 tariffs. If your savings are smaller than you expected, that is usually configuration, not equipment. Panels also now cost about half what they did in 2022, so adding to the system can make sense, and an upgrade is the right moment to fix whatever the first installer left undone.

The electrical work on every CleanVolts job is done and certified by a registered electrical contractor, and you contract with them directly. We design, quote, coordinate and handle the paperwork, and we stay your point of contact from the first visit to the follow-up.
Before we put any contractor forward for your job, we check their registration and category, their letter of good standing with the Compensation Fund and their public liability cover, and we speak to their clients. We name the contractor before you sign anything.
The contractor supplies the components on their own quote. CleanVolts holds no stock and doesn't mark up hardware. Whenever we recommend a partner, whether an installer, panel cleaner, finance provider or EV dealer, they have met our CleanVolts Approved standard, and we tell you if we earn a referral fee.
