# Your Solar Was Built for Load Shedding. Now Make It Cut Your Bill.
Most systems put in during 2022 and 2023 were sized and set up for one job: keeping the lights on through Stage 6. That job has largely gone. In 2026 the job is lowering your City Power bill, and most of those systems were never set up to do it.
Nothing is broken. It just needs the right attention, and some of it costs a lot less than it did when you bought the system.

- **The battery sits at 100% most of the day,** waiting for an outage that doesn't come, while the panels have nowhere useful to send their power.

Panels cost roughly half what they did in 2022. Many outage-era systems were short on panels and long on battery, so a few more panels can turn a backup system into a bill-cutting one.
