# The Full Solar System Audit
The complete assessment of the solar system you already have, and the step above the [Solar Health Check](https://cleanvolts.co.za/health-check?hsLang=za). It adds a thermal survey and string tests, and tells you in writing what's unsafe, what doesn't meet the wiring code and what to fix first.

## What We Check
### The DC side
String-by-string panel tests, cabling, connectors and DC isolators. Most faults live here.
### Heat
A thermal scan under load. A connection running hot is a fire that hasn't happened yet.
### Earthing and bonding
Whether the array, mounting and equipment are earthed and bonded correctly.
### AC side and batteries
How it ties into your DB board, the protection in place, changeover wiring, and battery mounting, ventilation and health.
### Labelling and documents
What SANS requires, what's missing, and what an inspector would ask for.
### SSEG registration
Whether it's registered with your municipality or Eskom, and what it takes if it isn't.

## How Pricing Works
The price depends on the size of the system and whether it has storage. It is confirmed in writing before anyone comes out, so there are no on-the-day surprises.
## Do I Need One?
You probably do if any of these are true:
- It went in during 2022 or 2023 and you've never seen a CoC
- You're selling, or a transfer is underway
- Your insurer has asked about it
- It's never been registered with your municipality or Eskom
- You don't know who installed it, or they've closed

## Is Your Solar System Legal?
As the owner, you're responsible for it. Three things matter most:
- **A Certificate of Compliance** from a registered electrical contractor
- **SSEG registration** with your municipality or Eskom

No. Only a registered electrical contractor can issue a CoC. The audit gives you a scope of work, so a registered installer can fix what's needed and then issue it.

It helps. The report shows the buyer and conveyancer the state of the system and its paperwork, so missing documents are found before they hold up the transfer.
